I watched a Youtube video a few weeks ago from Crafts by Two (these guys are funny) and they showed this great 5 point star and offered the cutting file in SVG format.
The video is Here and in the “show more” box you will find the link to their cutting file.
I opened it in Canvas and made a matting layer using the Path tool, last night was the first opportunity I have had to cut it and put it together.
The original design will be fairly large when made up as each fin is about 8/9 inches, as I wasn’t sure how mine would turn out I reduced the size down to 5 inches high, this also enabled me to get 2 fins out of an A4 (8.5 x 11) piece of Papermill card, so 2.5 sheets total used.
I was also able to get all 10 matting layers out of 1 piece of 12×12 double sided Stampin Up designer series paper.
I used a Stampin Up glue stick to stick all the paper to the card and my Stampin Up Tombo glue to seal each fin and attach it all together. If you haven’t tried Tombo glue give it a go it grabs quick and holds fast.
All the stampin Up products are available from my Online shop link at top if interested. It just needs hanging up now.
Some of you may have already seen these cute Girls, but I thought I would also add them here.
Meet Shirley, Goodness and Mercy I bought this SVG cutting file from “My Scrap Chick” again Ive used Stampin Up designer series paper and card and some scraps from my stash, they went together nice and easy and now sit above our desk in our craft room.
So i got sidetracked yesterday and started playing about with vinyl knockout/punchout techniques, I was having fun playing with a dingbat font and text and then i have no idea why these random thoughts come into my head, but Superbowl just came into my mind.
I used to watch Super Bowl years ago but have to admit I know nothing about it now, so I googled and it appears that the final is very close. (hope i have got that right)
I know I have lots of followers on both my blog and Youtube channel (which is getting ever closer to 3000 subscribers) from all over the world but thought as a thank you to my US followers/subscribers I would combine Super Bowl and a vinyl project.
So here are the screen shouts of the multi layer vinyls. I have not cut them but they should be ok.
You may share the cutting files with family and friends but please do not sell them, also ask your friends to like and subscribe to my Youtube channel and blog if they are interested in the ScanNCut machine.
I have added line up boxes for you if you should decide to try it out.
The ScanNCut cut files are Here.
Well we are now in 2015, where did 2014 go? I hope everyone had a safe and healthy Christmas. Today we are taking all the decorations down and having a good clean up to start 2015, then after that I am going to chill out.
I have a small project in mind I want to try out so will be playing round with that and if it works it will be a future project.
As I have signed up to be a hobby demonstrator with Stampin Up I want to try and do a project based tutorial at least once a month if I can along with still doing ScanNCut tutorials, so watch this space as they say!
My little girl wants to go shopping before she has to go back to school next week so we will be out for most of the day tomorrow, I am hoping it won’t be as busy. (who am I trying to kid)
Anyway Ive just had an email from HomeMaker magazine and they have some free printable label downloads on their website. Ive not tried them but wondered if we could print and cut them with our ScanNCut, so if you want to try they are Here They may come in Handy.
I bought some Crafters Companion Neenah Classic Crest Ultra Smooth Solar White Card 216gsm last year as I was advised its good for rubber stamping and colouring in with Spectrum Noir pens, £3.99 for pack of 20 A4 sheets. (only know that as price still on packet).
I used it with the rubber stamped angels i did for my Christmas cards, the post will be on my blog somewhere.
Anyway I tried it though my printer the other day (another future project) and it prints and cuts lovely with ScanNCut.
My printer isn’t anything fancy its an HP Photosmart wifi bought from QVC online, Ive had it a while now it doesn’t like very thick card as its a front load model but the Neenah went through fine.
So I hope you will all still follow me on my blog and Youtube channel this year and that we can have as much fun in 2015 as we have had in 2014. Thank You.
