Hi everyone, if you have followed me for some time you will know that back in December/January I challenged myself to use my embroidery machine more and I said that I was going to try and post a sewing/embroidery project every month, well so far so good!
We are now in June and I've managed to post not one but sometimes two sewing/embroidery projects, here is todays. Its an in the hoop passport cover and its a free stitch file available with my all access cover from Creative Fabrica.
Click here if you want to join or get more info about CF, I will also leave a direct link to the individual stitch file, incase you are already a member, just click on view profile in the link details to see all the other alphabet letters that are available for this project.
In the hoop passport cover Here the file contains 3 quilt stitch designs, so if you don't like the design I stitched you have other pattern options. As I said in the video I will be making this again, but next time I will stitch all the steps and cut around the outside very close the the final stitching I personally think it will look better.
I hope you like the project.
Hi everyone for todays project I am showing you how I created the machine embroidery design in embrilliance essentials, from two stitch files I got free in creative fabrica, links to the font and design will be below.
I am not sure I made myself clear in the video but I've never done a left chest placement stitch out before, so I was test stitching this design on an old t-shirt. It has been washed and worn a couple of times, but to be honest it shrunk in the wash so I don't wear it anymore, so its going to be my test garment, but I thought I would record a video for anyone new to machine embroidery.
I know I say when doing ScanNCut projects, test cut before you start on your best card stock, so why wouldn't I do the same when doing embroidery projects, well I suppose for me in the past Ive mainly embroidered towels, tea towels and fabric for bags etc and I think they are more forgiving.
However, I am totally new to clothing I did a black t-shirt recently and it worked out perfectly, I think I was just lucky, it was also a centre front placement which I think is easier.
So this pink t-shirt is going to be my test stitching piece, do any of you do this?
Things Ive learnt from this process
When doing tone on tone stitching I need a design which is more dense in stitches.
If using a bean stitch use either a contrasting colour thread or one that is at least 1 or 2 shades darker, this thread was to close to the colour of my shirt.
For this particular design I needed the design to be at least 1" over and down for better placement.
So do you have any tips, if so please leave a comment.

Hi everyone I love this embroidery design and it comes in many sizes, but it looks even better with the scattering of rhinestones, Ive used pale pink SS10 hot fix stones but it would look just as nice with crystal rhinestones too.
Ive had the embroidery file for some time, its from pixie dust designs and I think I got it from etsy but not 100% sure. I stitched the 4x4 design.
If you would like to know how to make the scatter rhinestone effect, just leave me a comment in the description under the youtube video.
You can purchase SS10 hot fix rhinestones on my website and I also sell the rhinestone flock cutting media and transfer tape in kits.
I also sell pre designed rhinestone cutting file templates, so there is no need to own the Brother rhinestone activation kit, as I have everything for you, and you can use my designs and products with any model ScanNCut machine - CM/DX/SDX.
